Opener Shubman Gill scored 92 runs in Mumbai during India's match against Sri Lanka on November 2.

As much as the cricketing action was talked about on social media, a moment involving the rumoured couple created a buzz. Sara Tendulkar's response to Shubman Gill's dismissal became widely shared.

The large crowd at Wankhede Stadium, including Sara Tendulkar, was left broken by the dismissal of Gill as he fell just short of his first century in the ICC World Cup 2023.

Sara Tendulkar appeared visibly disappointed when Shubman Gill was caught behind by Kusal Mendis off the bowling of pacer Dilshan Madushanka.

She was also seen giving a standing ovation to Gill as the batter was going back to the pavilion after his dismissal.

Remember, the speculated couple added fuel to dating rumours when they were seen together at an event a few days back.

Sara, the daughter of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, was among several celebrities who attended the India vs Sri Lanka World Cup 2023 match in Mumbai. Shahid Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, and Athiya Shetty were also seen cheering for India during the match.

India convincingly defeated Sri Lanka by 302 runs. The decision of the 1996 World Cup winners to bowl first backfired, as the home team posted a total of 357-8 in 50 overs, thanks to fifties from Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer.

Shubman Gill stood out with the bat, scoring 92 runs at a run-a-ball rate, including 11 boundaries and two maximums. He built a solid 189-run partnership with Virat Kohli, who contributed 88 runs from 94 deliveries with 11 fours. Shreyas Iyer also played a crucial role, scoring 82 runs from 56 deliveries, including three fours and six sixes.

India displayed their dominance in the bowling department, dismissing Sri Lanka for just 55 runs in 19.4 overs. Kasun Rajitha top-scored with 14, while Angelo Mathews and Maheesh Theekshana managed to make 12 runs each.

India's pacer, Mohammed Shami, continued his excellent form in the tournament, finishing with impressive figures of 5-18, taking five wickets. His fellow fast bowler, Mohammed Siraj, secured three wickets.
